Owner, Physical Therapist, Coach

Ellen Hector is a unique movement and health guide. She is drawn to the complexity of what it is to be human and possesses a deep curiosity about the path from pain to purpose, and suffering to freedom.

Through her own journey, Ellen has discovered the power of working with the breath and the body to reignite her inner self, bring healing and balance to the mind, body and soul. Utilizing breathwork, movement education, pain psychology, manual therapy and more, Ellen assists individuals in connecting to the deepest parts of themselves.

Ellen holds a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo College of Medicine and holds additional certifications/education in Nutrition Coaching, Concussion Rehabilitation, Vestibular Therapy, Clinical Education, Orthopedic Manual Therapy, ASTYM, Kinesiotaping, and Pre- and Postnatal Exercise. She attended Central Michigan University for her undergraduate studies in Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training.

She is honored to be part of the team, offering this pivotal work to those on their own journey to more deeply connect with their optimal selves.

Physical Therapist, Coach

Dr. Allyson is a Kalamazoo native and graduated from Hope College with a BA in Exercise Science and a minor in dance in 2012. While at Hope she was in the pre-professional dance company dANCEpROjECT, now known as H2. After Hope she earned her massage therapy license before going on to Central Michigan University where she graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2017.

Allyson is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, McKenzie certified, LSVT Big certified, a member of the international association for dance medicine and science (IADMS), and has attended additional courses specializing in treating dancers.

She has experience treating a variety of populations including dancers and athletes, geriatrics, people with balance and movement disorders with specialization in Parkinson’s Disease, and people with complex low back and neck pain.

Allyson believes that movement is some of the very best medicine and is passionate about helping people move more efficiently while ENJOYING the movement!

She is married to a friendly scientist and has an adorable border collie mix named Finn as well as two cats, Armani and Coco. Allyson enjoys dancing, hiking with her husband and pup, and playing music.

Dr. Sean Clark, PT, DPT

Dr. Sean was born and raised in Southwest Michigan and earned a BA in Chemical Engineering with a Minor in Pulp & Paper Engineering in 2013. Throughout his career as an Application Engineer and Project Manager, he confirmed his passion for physics and science, but realized industrial applications of these topics were not the right fit. This led him to pursue his true calling as a Physical Therapist and he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from WMU in 2022.

Sean has had a strong interest in human physiology and biomechanics with his love for sports, exercise, and human performance. Over time, he realized how important injury prevention and rehabilitation can be to maintain athletic performance and everyday function. Helping people maximize function and meet their athletic goals quickly became a passion!

When not at work you can find him golfing, playing ultimate frisbee, throwing competitive darts, exploring nature or starting too many home renovation projects at the same time. He is beyond excited to be a part of the Mindset community and grow as a therapist alongside his future patients.

Amanda Willer

Amanda is a proud Bronco with a B.A. in Communications from Western Michigan University. She has a number of years of experience in marketing, sales, and customer service within the long-term care sector. Amanda comes to Mindset with a unique perspective on guest experience, outreach, and client engagement. She aspires to engage and support members and clients in being vulnerable as a catalyst for growth.

In the wake of her experience in the long-term care sector, Amanda has a renewed appreciation for mental and physical health. She is eager to explore and expand, both within Mindset, and in her own journey of reawakening. Outside of Mindset, Amanda enjoys devoting time to being creative, gardening, cooking and spending time with her husband, son and two dogs.

Amanda looks upon motherhood and marriage as two of the most valuable gifts!

Cassidi Wenke, ACE, NASM-CNC

Cassidi Wenke, ACE, NASM-CNC

Coach, Personal Trainer

Cassidi was born and raised a Kalamazoo local and graduated from Western Michigan University with an Exercise Science degree. She has been involved with the world of exercise since elementary school when she started playing volleyball year-round.

When she hit high school, she decided to get into lifting and fell in love with it. She has been a personal trainer since 2017 and loves helping people learn to be confident in and proud of themselves. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and ACE Behavior Change Specialist.

Cassidi married her high school sweetheart in July of 2020. In her free time, she likes to be outside enjoying the sunshine, traveling to see new places and finding new projects to accomplish around the house she and her husband purchased in early 2020.

Her favorite thing about fitness is that every time you step into the gym to work on yourself, even if you feel like it wasn’t your best day, you take a step in the right direction.

Mary-Katherine is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but now considers herself to be a pure Michigander! Mary-Katherine attended Kalamazoo College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English and Education and fell in love with the city of Kalamazoo. She went on to attain a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut and spent a decade teaching middle and high school students.

After having her daughter, Mary-Katherine headed back to a new type of classroom: the gym studio! Certified in a variety of group fitness formats, Mary-Katherine loves to help all people move and access the enjoyment and fulfillment of purposeful exercise. While the type of classroom might have changed, Mary-Katherine’s focus continues to be on empowering others through education.

Mary-Katherine is married to her Kalamazoo College crush, Andy. They have one daughter, Grace, who is 5 and will be headed to kindergarten in the fall of 2021. In her free time, Mary-Katherine likes to travel, hike, read books, and go to thrift stores with her mom.

Nicole is a Vicksburg native and spent most of her years growing up in that community. She earned her licensure and graduated in Massage Therapy in 2006 from Everest Institute. She has continued to learn and grow her craft throughout the years working in multiple types of massage settings. She looks forward to continued growth and studying new modalities and techniques while at Mindset. 

Her goal as a licensed massage therapist is to provide relief while helping to identify the root cause of the issue. She is honored and extremely excited to be part of the Mindset team. She hopes to provide relief for as many people as she can with her years of experience!

Outside of massage work, Nicole’s absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. Nicole and her fiance, Nicholas, bought their first home together in 2020. Even more exciting than that, they welcomed their first super cute little girl, Haven, in November of 2021! 

Motherhood has brought a whole new meaning to life for Nicole and she is enjoying every second! With many family traditions, and starting new ones, the holidays are Nicole’s favorite time of year. You can find her decorating and being all kinds of creative this time of year! Additionally, Nicole has a passion for cooking and she once considered a career in culinary arts. Outside of being a creator of sorts she too enjoys gardening, being outside, music, and playing her drums.

Jeremy was born and raised in Paw Paw and graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in English and Communications.

In previous jobs he has served as a narrative director for a video game company, launched and led two departments for a multi-million dollar media company, and created validation documentation for Pfizer.

He is an Onnit Kettlebell Specialist and was previously a Level 1 CrossFit Coach. He has attended multiple courses with StrongFirst and MovNat, participated in a dozen adventure races, completed two Tough Mudders, and attended classes at Tom Brown’s Tracker School and Bill McConnell’s PAST Skills Wilderness School.

He is married to Dr. Ellen (see above for how lucky that makes him). Spending time outdoors with her, their two boys, and any critters who choose to join is the best part of any day.
